Club India cafe

After a long day getting our trip to Rajasthan organized, it was time for our first meal at the Club India cafe, recommended by our good friend Rocky from Vedi's International. (apparently one of the few real "gvt approved" travel agents...)
The cafe is on Main Bazaar located on the edge of a square next to the local police cabin. First enjoyable thing is that they have a roof terrace with a good view on the square, which provides good entertainment in the evening for the tourists.

Refreshing banana & pineapple lassis are our favorites, along with a chicken byriyani (not too hot) or chicken seekh kebab. The naans are just.... unbelievable ! This is not what you get from the Sainbury's or your local indian restaurant. They are crisp, thiner, and have this delicious stone baked taste. I guess we could make a meal out of them.

As entertainment is concerned, after 20 minutes at our table, we could hear loud voices coming from the street. With everybody taking a look from the terrace, our nepalese waiter explained to us that there had been a minor accident between two motorbikes, and as he says "indians turn small problems into big problems". 10 minutes later, there was 15 people arguing around the police cabin. Two police officers came out (one with a big stick -> for those who knew him, BlackJack was a small time player) and settled things fairly rapidly, letting a small group argue in a "civilised" manner.
The next minute, we saw the same police officers catch a young boy (thief?) and with the help of a few brown noses, held him for a little public beating (!!).
The guy was then put in the police cabin, where a few people were allowed in for a "private chat". By this time, there were maybe 30 people surrounding the little building, trying to see what was happening through the window (hole with bars). The situation looked really tensed, and the fierce policemen were in no joking mood.
That's when the waiter told us that the previous day, the police had caught a terrorist with a bomb a few streets from here....
